The six steps to manifesting:

“If you can imagine it, or even think about it, this Universe has the ability and the resources to deliver it fully unto you” – Esther and Gerry Hicks – “Ask and it is Given.”

The quote above from Esther and Gerry Hicks‘ book, “Ask and it is Given” is the basis of The Law of Attraction. Whether it be a dream job, more money, a new relationship, a new car, better health, or a whole new life, manifesting is essentially the process of turning dreams and thoughts into a reality. Although the principles behind the Law of Attraction are ancient, the idea essentially took off with the book and subsequent movie, The Secret.

Manifesting is easy, once you know the steps.

Absolute Clarity

Whether we are aware of it or not, we are continually creating our reality through the thoughts and beliefs that dominate our minds. What if we trained our minds to create what we desired for our lives?

Manifesting life on your terms starts with clarity of vision and a relentless desire for what it is you want! The problem is, most people don’t know what they want. Or, if they do, they tend to dwell on the absence of what they want.

That’s much easier to do since we are so aware of what is lacking in our lives. Unfortunately, you get more of what you focus on. Focusing on the absence of something brings about more of the absence of it.

Align your vision with what you value. While we all share many similar values like love, hard work, freedom, safety, and family, where we are different is our top five values. It takes mindfulness to focus on the desired outcome. Our reality is continuously taking our attention since it’s what we can see, touch, and taste. It takes a conscious effort to think, imagine, taste, and touch and feel something that is not yet there. But that is the secret to manifesting!

Oprah Winfrey said, “You get in life what you have the courage to ask for.” The trouble is, for most of us, even when we do know what it is we want, we’re too afraid to ask, either because we feel we don’t deserve it or we may feel there is too much to sacrifice in pursuit of what we want.

Our subconscious minds can undermine what we want. Your values and beliefs drive everything you do. Sometimes these can be at odds.

You may value providing for your family more materially but subconsciously believing that you’re not capable of affording it without a considerable sacrifice of time that takes you away from your family.

Aligning your beliefs with your desires is the second step towards manifesting a goal. You can ask for what you want, but if you don’t believe you can have it, you won’t be able to The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham“>attract it. Believe you deserve it.

It takes practice to become aware and mindful of your dominant thoughts. It takes a conscious effort to steer those thoughts to envision a different outcome from your current reality.

Meditation is an effective practice to increase the receptivity of your desires. It does this by quieting your mind which reduces your resistance. Through meditation, your mind enters a different state. An alpha state. It is during the alpha state that you can reduce the “noise” of your conscious thoughts. And introduce the “dreams” you desire for your lives.

Infuse your vision of the future with positive emotions. Emotions such as anticipation, joy, love, and fulfillment.

The key to manifesting is to align your energy with the energy of the desired outcome. Emotion is energy in motion. Imagine a life of having achieved your desired goals. Imagine what it would feel like to have manifested those goals.
If it’s a new car you want, imagine what it would feel like to buy a new car. How would it feel like to drive that new car? If it’s a partner you are wanting to manifest, imagine what it would feel like to have a new partner. Be as specific as possible. The more detail you can provide your imagination, the closer you come to manifesting it.

Envision as if it’s already there.

Start to envision life as if you have already achieved the desired goal. If it’s better health than start living as if you already had the health you wanted.

Sometimes it can be challenging to live life as if you have already achieved or acquired what it is you want. If you are manifesting a new car, embody the person who has that new car. Feel as if you already have it.

The brain cannot tell the difference as to whether the thought is real or not. What it does is that it looks to find evidence outside itself to confirm that thought. It’s the same reason why you appear to notice red cars more when you buy a red car or are contemplating buying one. Have you bumped into someone you had not met for a while, and said: “I’ve been thinking of you lately!”

You cannot manifest something new in your life by thinking or feeling the absence of it. If you want new love, you have to feel loved. If you want to attract abundance, you have to feel a sense of abundance.

Now let go! Each time you imagine your vision for what it is you want, don’t hold on to it. After a minute or so of envisioning what it is you desire, release that image. This can be a challenging step because it’s human nature to want to grasp. To hold on to things. Releasing is a show of faith. The universe rewards this act of faith.
